owner, creative director
Abraham moved to Canada from the UK in 2003 and, while waiting for his wife to graduate, decided to pass the time by doing some design work for a few clients. Over 13 years later both Abraham, and ODL, are still here. Being a true multi-disciplinary creative, Abraham is an accomplished photographer, designer and illustrator, having had the fortune to work with a variety of multinational and local clients. When he is not at work Abraham spends most of his free time with his two young boys or reading trashy mid-20th century Sci-Fi novels.
owner, creative director & project manager
Fresh out of graduating OCAD, Jey joined her husband as principle at ODL over 12 years ago. She believes that every project begins with a brainstorming sketch session. She is also a notorious list maker, which has lead to a robust collection of notebooks, patterned paper, and washi tape. Inspired by her love of typography, she had embraced her lifelong hobby of calligraphy and handlettering and has used these skills to give projects the “hand-made” touch they need. As such, her collection of pens is almost as impressive as her collection of notebooks!
Mario has been in the print marketing arena for over 25 years. Sourcing, planning, managing, and producing a variety of quality printed products from outstanding packaging to eye catching business cards. His true entrepreneur spirit led him to be the CEO and Board Member of a Nasdaq listed company with a net worth north of $250,000,000 US. When not looking through a loop or standing at the end of the press making sure the client’s job matches the client’s expectations, he’s either walking his dog Darla or fishing off a dock dreaming of catching the big one. His client’s rave over his customer service, his attention to detail, and his under promise and over deliver attitude.
With a Bachelor’s Degree from the York University/Sheridan College Joint Program in Design (YSDN), Christine joined ODL in the summer of 2013 as a junior designer. Over the next few years, her keen eye, creative expertise, and strong organizational skills, helped propel her to the role of senior designer where she tackles client projects and assists with art direction and project management daily. She is a self-proclaimed Mouseketeer and ODL’s resident Disnerd (Disney nerd). Allan Martinez is her husband.
lead designer, UK
George graduated from Central Saint Martins in London, England with a BA in Art & Design. After working in-house for a couple of years in central London, George made the jump across the pond to join ODL in Canada. After taking on some valuable experience, and immersing himself in some Canadian culture (Timbits & Drake), George headed back to England to lead the new U.K. office.
Allan is a graduate of George Brown College’s Graphic Design program. In 2018, after years of working retail, and freelance designing on the side, he got his first shot at becoming a full-time graphic designer at ODL. His favourite thing to do is work on logos and click hundreds of times using the pen tool. Along with design, Allan has a love for comic books, toys, video games, sneakers and content creation. He also likes taking up time with photography and hand lettering. He’s a geek. Christine Martinez is his wife.
Darla joined ODL in the fall of 2018 and has since become an invaluable member of the team. When she’s not acting as floor manager (inspecting corners for dust bunnies and waiting patiently under desks hoping for some crumbs to fall) she enjoys lounging on the office couch and barking at lamps. If you see her around the office, don’t be afraid to give her a belly rub.
